WAI is a beachfront eco-resort focused on sustainable tourism; “tourism that takes full account of its current and future economic, social and environmental impacts, addressing the needs of visitors, the industry, the environment and host communities.”

Wai means water in Hawaiian. Waikiki, this hotel's home, means sprouting fresh water, hence why the name was chosen.

REDEFINING LUXURY

In the heart of Waikiki, a stunning oceanfront escape in perfect harmony with nature and our local communities. Wai’s has one goal, to redefine luxury. Our various programs provide guests with the most enriching experiences while ensuring that our impact on local communities and the environment is reduced.

  • Homelessness

    60% of the Waikiki homeless community is shelterless. With every room booked, a $10 donation will be made to a local community shelter.

  • Reef Protection

    Wai will ensure that all products sold on-site are reef-safe (lotion, sunscreen, after sun).

  • Wildlife Protection

    Activities involving wildlife such as snorkelling will be done through our STAH booth (Sustainable Tourism Association of Hawaii) to ensure their wellbeing.

  • Supporting Local

    90% of food in Hawaii is imported. Having farm-to-table style restaurants will allow us to support local farmers and allow visitors to experience authentic Hawaiian cuisine.

TRIAD COLOR SCHEME: The color pallet chosen is supposed to reflect nature in a fun, retro and tropical way. Blue-Green was selected as the base color. Blue has an association with water, the ocean and the sky. Green has an association with nature, eco-friendliness and calmness. Together these colors make blue-green, a color that represents our brand's message to a tee. The other colors, as stated on their swatch, represent the other tropical elements surrounding Wai.
